SAM Magazine's First Annual Contest
Theme: Hope and Light

To kick off 2024, SAM Magazine is holding the Hope and Light art contest. What does hope and light mean to you?
2D artwork in any of your choice including photography. DEADLINE to submit is December 31, 2023 at 11:59 pm. The three winning entries will be featured in the March 31, 2024 issue of SAM Magazine and a guest interview with Joanna on her internationally distributed podcast, JCVArtStudio. The TOPWINNING ENTRY will also receive a $50 gift certificate from Opus or Iron Oxide. The winning entries will be determined by three judges through blind judging.
This contest is open to Canadian residents only (sorry).
All artwork must be original pieces of art and not anyone else's or copied from anyone else's. If artwork is submitted based off a photograph, the artist must have that photographer's consent. Stock images must not be used. The artwork submitted may not have been previously published in print or online. SAM Magazine respects the rights of Indigenous peoples to own and control their own artwork, and work based from any Indigenous community may only be submitted from members of that community being represented.
JPEGS of the artwork submitted must not exceed 1 megabyte in size. JPEGS must be titled the name of the art piece. "Hope and Light" should be in the subject line of the email followed by the entrant's last name. The attached pdf form must also be included in your entry email. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.
